The first engine in Takoma Park was designated Engine 23 and was a Seagrave. It was so handsome it was even used in their advertisements!
This is E-23 but it was E-16 under the original ID system in Montgomery County. The men in the picture are some of the many Jarboes who have served Takoma Park.
This is the first pumper to serve Takoma Park, a hand pumped Howe Model 4, pictured in 1895 outside the first station.
